Yummy bulk button buys!

The past couple of days have flown by in a whirl of re-stocking, had a huge delivery of felt and made up some beautiful rainbows in the 12" felt,

(whenever I make these up, it always occurs to me that this is the pack that if I shopped at Feltgirl instead of stocking Feltgirl, that I would buy!! Being me, I would want all the colours and in a size that would make lots and lots of things!!! )

I have also spent a very pleasant morning photographing buttons and re-stocking the shelves of my little shop with bulk buttons in the most delicious colours:buttons do absolutely make my heart sing........ these come in bulk-buy packs of 50g in weight for only £4 or $6 and you get the most exciting mix - all shapes and sizes and shades, a true lucky dip as no two bags will be the same.
but now that the shelves of my little shop are simply bursting with button goodness, I simply must get on with some MAKING!!!!
Hopefully I'll do a show and tell tomorrow. Hope the buttony pics cheered your day as much as they did mine!! xx

Computer -weary but a great deal!!!!

Whew!!

Double figures.

On Tuesday, our little Floss was ten, the big 1o!! Excited was NOT the word!!

She had a great time, laughed a lot and loved her presents and all her visitors...

and even the completely strange but oddly edible Giant Jaffa Cake was a weird success!!!!!!!

And just look at this fabulous card that my eldest son's gorgeous girlfriend made for Floss......

How fantastic is that?!!! Even though the Pipples are causing me a massive headache at the moment, I LOVE that card. So sweet.

And on the Pipple note, can I just say a big thank you to all those of you who have emailed and left messages with potential names. I am still searching, and researching since I don't want anything similar out there!!

It could run and run forever, so I have decided that I must have found a name by Sunday to put an end to the torment. If I find one not suggested by anyone, then I will put all the names of kind people who have offered help into a hat and draw out a winner that way. So either way, someone will win a Pip....Thingy of their choice!! You can look here for the ones currently available.

SO, PLEASE KEEP THINKING!! It's not easy, especially when you start looking at similar stuff and find others have got there first!

I keep having to go and do something else as it's driving me mad.

On a happier note, I spent some time on the very therapeutic task of making felt rainbow piles and my felty customers might like to know that the felt packs are all replenished in my shop here and here. I always love playing with felt and the colours always make me happy so it was a lovely change from thinking about Thingy names.

A fruitful day...

It's been an absolutely gorgeous day here in Yorkshire. Warm, one might even say, balmy, with blue skies and sunshine! It was however a bit blowy - washing had to be pegged a little more than normal but it managed to stay on the line!

The sunshine has helped to ripen my cherry tomatoes at last and they did look lovely:

It was sooo satisfying to pick some of the little red ones to have with my lunch - and yes, they did taste better than shop bought ones.

We are lucky enough to have a really mini 'orchard' in our sadly neglected higgeldy piggeldy garden (well, we have 2 apple trees and 2 pear trees!) The apples have been very good this year and Flossie and her Dad spent a happy hour with cutters and sticks (don't ask) collecting this little lot -

I love having the apples, but I do wish they ripened a few at a time, enough for one crumble or pie each time - wouldn't that be great?! In the meantime, if anyone has some good 'apple" recipes I would be very grateful. I can make sauce, pie and crumble but there my repertoire ends! Help!!

I have had a lovely day playing with felt. I packed up some orders then realised I had run out of the 40 packs. So, nothing to be done but spend some time listening to Radio 4 and making piles of rainbows-

Then I got to play with the camera AND the felt!! I am so loving the colours....

I do so love my job! x

Friends for the duck

I was in a charity shop (thrift store) the other day and just couldn't resist this -

I just loved the 70s-ness of it! Love the simple design and it just had to come home with me. It has a matching sugar basin too.

On the crafting front, excuse the badly lit photo but just had to show you this! The little shared duck of the last post has some new friends!! Flossie has turned into a little duck-making machine and one after another produced some friends....

Hmmm, think I'd better make something before all the felt is gone! x
